In the house party scene fast cuts and close-ups are used. The fast cuts are parallel with the music and emphisise on how busy the scene is. The track played is upbeat and likley to be known trhoughout the target audeince this helps the audience to associate themselves with the situation. close ups are used in order to emphasise on certain thing for example when one girl talks about breasts a close up is used on her chest. close ups are allso used on grils and boys dancing, the alchol, and people smoking; showing the audience what most people associate with a party. Close ups are also used when a person/people are talking this helps the audince to focus more on what they are saying and there emotions.

Sugar rush is shown on Channel four at 10.50 (after the water shed as there is a sexual nature,drugs,swearing etc. as seen in the clip above) and is based on Julie’s Burchill’s novel Sugar Rush. However only the first series was based around the first novel and the second was produced due to its success...

It’s a teen drama and can be compared to other shows in the same category such as Bad Girls . The two main chracters are Sugar and Kim, the programme is based around these two teenagers lives.

we can see this in the clip as is shows a teenage house party,with drinking, smoking, dancing etc. somthing which many teenagers can associate with. Theres also conflict in kim and saints relationship about comitment etc. Again many teenagers can associate with the same dilemma. All supposting the fact that its a teen drama!

In this clip we see alot of women and not many men. They are represented as loud, opinionated and independent. For example when kim walks away from saint she turns to sugar and just goes of to have fun, she doesnt rely feel that she needs someone by her side to have fun etc. I think that people sometimes sterotype women to have to be with someone to be happy, this scene doesn't conform to this. It represents teenagers sterotypicallly ; drinking,smoking,talkin about sex etc. there is also a rage of ethnicities in the clip howver we cant see how they are represented individually as they dont play a large part in the scene...

As its a teen drama with 2 female characters who play the main roles in the programme, the primary audience are tennage females probably 15 years of age and older. The reason why they are more likley to be no younger than 15 is because it is shown at 10.50 after the water-shed anyone of a younger age wouldnt be watching the tv after this time and it wouldn't be appropriate as it contains a sexual reference and swearing. Also because the chatacters are 15 and older ( with the acception of kims brother) therfore a younger audeince will not be a ble to relate. All ethicnities are targeted as their is a range of ethnicities in the prgramme...

Feminism Vs Patrichal and Family VS Independence. The programme has positive aspects as it informs more people about Lesbians and how common it is it todays society. It also shows a more independent representation of women.

..NaRrAtIvE..

This clip is from episode 10..Kim is freaking out. Saint asked Kim to move in and she said yes but now she's having major second thoughts.It doesn't make it easier that Sugar has finally got her act together and is loving the independent life she's living in her new little flat. With Kim keeping Saint waiting for an answer, she goes out with Sugar for an unforgettable night on the town. However the night ends on a not so possitive note, sugars flat burns down...

When sugar tells kim about the whole ordeal, flashbacks are used in order to give a visual image to the audeince about what happened. A flash back after she tells her story about how the fire started solving the short enigma given to teh audience "how did the fire start?"...
